You can get great looking fiberglass tubs that will bring the same value to your home. If you aren't in a 1 million++ house, you will not get your money back (ROI).

Marble would be very, very expensive. Tumbled marble in a bathroom is great, but in the tub itself?? I have a feeling this would be a difficult surface to maintain. I'd go with marble IN THE BATHROOM but not IN THE TUB....surrounding the tub - yes, but not the tub itself....
Btw, parts of my area in Westchester, NY are very high end. I haven't run into marble tubs yet - might happen, but not so far. Wed Oct 10 2007, 23:11

Wow. A real Marble tub is big bucks. I don't think I would spend the money there unless the home is over the 1.2#
Fiberglass tub is standard equipment. I would look for a large Garden tub, maybe add some jets. To answer your question go with the fiber glass. to invest all that money in marble someone might not like. Below is a link to some nice marble / stone tubs. starting at 2K they go up in price quick Wed Oct 10 2007, 20:57 Web Reference: http://www.amlinkmarble.com/Bathtub.htm
