In Fung Shui, how do you determine the "FACE" direction of the front door?

Asked by Kathleen Becker, Santa Monica, CA Thu May 12, 2011

As you approach the house from the West side, moving in the East direction to the front door, would the front door be East facing or West Facing? If you are inside looking out the front door, you are facing West.

What direction is the front door facing?

Do you determine the "Face " of the door from the inside looking out or from the outside looking in?

rule of thumb - you are standing at the door looking out to the West direction, that is a WEST facing door.

- prefer order : South, North, East and then West.
- major No No: T-corner , and front door facing the street directly.
- straight shot from front door to back door etc...

Technically, the center point of the flat surface of the front door and 90 degree perpendicular to that center point surface will give you the exact direction.

Check out Dragon Gate Feng Shui with Denise. I use her for all of my personal properties, she is excellent and will travel to California if you wanted her to. This lady is great to have in your address book if you are a realtor or home buyer/seller!
