"Where is the best place to live in or around the phoenix area for your money plus for schools.
and if their is a family area that it can be in"
So you want the best place to live plus great schools plus the best price.
Welcome to Gilbert AZ ( East Valley), School district 41.
Great Schools, Great City, Great prices.
The only bad news is the distance between downtown Phoenix, and downtown Gilbert is 25 miles.
You can rent a 3/2 1300 sqft house for about $1000. per month. Buy it for about $225-250.
Next best bet would be Tempe, Kyrene school district, You can rent a 3/2 1400 sqft for about $1200-$1500.
Buy it for about $260-280.
about 10 miles from downtown Phoenix.
These are only a few to consider.
There are a bunch of wonderful affordable neighborhoods in the East Valley, West Valley, and Phoenix also has some great choices.
If I can be of any further assistance....
Be sure to check out my Website, Thanks
There are a few AZ RE Pros who participate on Trulia who can chime in with feedback about Phoenix. I am not in your area.
But, the following national sites have info about schools and may be helpful for you to browse and give you a start while waiting to hear from some locals to further assist you:
There are laws that prevent us from answering that type of question. Anything that will "steer" a potential buyer to one area, and/or away from another area is called steering and is strictly prohibited. An agent can loose his/her license for doing so.
Most agents that will answer that type of questions will most probably try to "steer" you to the area that they know and work, which might not be the best match for your needs. I will encourage you to find general information about schools, crime and price ranges in the area to determine what is the best match for you.
On my website I have some usuful links that should help you with your search. I have three links dedicated to schools information alone: http://smartazrealty.com/realtor_carlos_home/useful_links...

I find it very difficult to give you a quick answer without fully knowing you, your expectations and definitions for what makes a place or a school the best. What you're looking for in a school and a community may be totally different than my expectaions or the interpretations of others.
It would be very arrogant of me and truly a disservice to all communities if I didn't hear you out before gving you a list of possiblities. Just know there are no utopias, and we have many great options in the Valley. Once you have a short list based upon YOUR expectations, needs and budget I would suggest you start going to places ( stores, restaurants, services you would use, etc.) to get a real flavor for the culture, people and place. Then you can formulate your own decisions without the bias and personal interests of others getting in the way.
I have lived in Peoria, Glendale, Cave Creek, Scottsdale, owned land in Carefree and currently live in Phoenix. To me the Valley is a great place to live and continues to evolve in so many ways into an even greater place to call home.
