Chris--That is an interesting question. I guess if you look at data from the past 10-20 years you would see that the town is becoming more diverse in regards to influences/foods from different cultures. Dean College brings a multi-cultural student population into the town which is a great influence. Criminal activity is still relatively low in spite of a growing population and mostly consists of minor crimes like shoplifting. The town remains a very safe place to live as noted in the police logs. Most residents do not lock their cars or homes during the day. People generally feel safe walking alone even after dark.
There is not much land available for new construction so it is unlikely that a large influx of families will move in and start families as had happened during the mid 1990s when residential building was rampant. Maybe more companies will relocate to the industrial parks in the town. Families seem to stay put in this town as they often move but on to a larger home within the town.
It is anyone's guess what the future holds but the past gives us some clues.
