Hi Jenny and thanks for your post.
The State of California administers a state-wide Megan's Law disclosure site at http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov. At this site you can find sex offenders in any county or part of the state, and see approximately where each of the offenders live. The site also provides specific information about each offender, should you have any questions about the type of offense or crime committed. Please remember that the site is for informational purposes only and cannot be used to harrass or otherwise harm these individuals.
Good luck!
Sincerely,

http://www.homefacts.com/sexoffenders.html has a search for sex offenders in your area.
Hi Jenny, I have a link to this information on my blog roll at http://www.condocontessa.wordpress.com
Hi, here's an updated link to help you with your needs:
http://jonathanbowen.terabitz.com/app/listing/singleProperty
Click on Safety and then drag the Sex Offender widget onto the map. Presto, magico. Take care, Jon
Jenny,
usually city police departments have additional information and resources the state Megan's Law website does not have. The City of San Francisco has an interactive map feature called CrimeMAPS:
http://www.sfgov.org/site/police_index.asp
You can search areas of the city for individuals with various offenses.
http://www.peoplefinders.com also has a free service but you have to register. The familywatchdog.us site recommended earlier has a nice feature of showing both home and work.
I know that Terabitz.com has started plotting sex offenders on a map. It's definately interesting to see where they live. Take care, Jon
Besides the megan law link you were provided here is another link that you might want to check
Locating Sex offenders and other felons living in your area http://www.familywatchdog.us/Default.asp
Yes, you can go to http://www.meganslaw.com in California and find out where they currently live. If you wish you may visit my website at http://www.JanisCalkins.com and search under the Local Resources button.

Hi Jenny:
That's a good site. Do remember that this is only the site for registered sex offenders; some may or may not have moved in or our of the area.
For other safety concerns, you can check with the local police stations.
Sylvia
In California, you can check the Office of the Attorney General's weblink:
