When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

I would not go alone. Bring a friend or a big dog! Neighborhood has gotten better in the past year, but I would still be careful!

Not sure where Ed is talking about - possibly another city. However, this address is located in the Park South neighborhood of downtown Albany. It was somewhat revitalized a few years back, but the crime and violence is still present. If you have a family I would definitely take a pass on this property in lieu of another in a safer neighborhood.

Walking in North and South Loudon Heights is one of the safest places in the entire Capitol district. A totally private winding and quiet streets, with no need for sidewalks because there is absolutely no traffic other than the residents in the area. Streets are well lit, lots of friendly neighbors and kids out and about.

The neighborhood of Loudon Heights is very close, very private, and neighbors gather for community wide events like Halloween, summer picnics, and christmas events.
