This subdivision may be low crime....but the area of town that the subdivision is in IS the high crime area of McKinney. I have worked in this area for the last 20 yrs as a lineman and the Apartment complex right down the street at the end of Bumpass is considered a RED ZONE by the company I work for. We do not go there alone after dark.
Hope this helps

We as real estate professionals don't provide our opinions on crime rates, but there are many sources for the information you seek.

If not working with an agent, feel free to browse my site or contact me for other area info.

It all depends on the neighborhood you choose to live in, most of McKinney is low crime and a great place to live but there are a few exceptions. A good agent can help you find the right house, give me a call at 972-569-8550 and we can help assist you.

Belinda,
Your best bet for getting information about crime rates is to contact the local police department. However, this website might give you some further information about the area that you find helpful.

I agree with Kelly, that the city of McKinney in general is a highly-desirable area. It is one of the fastest growing areas and it's also the county seat of Collin County.

Have a great day!

Hi Belinda - I live in McKinney...it's a great city to live in. McKinney would not have been ranked the second best place to live in the nation this year, nor the fifth best place to live last year if the crime was that high. You can go to city-data to see more information, as well as other sites.
McKinney has over 133,400 residents, the schools are great...several reaching exemplary status and the city is unlike any other in the metroplex.
I hope this helps to answer your question, feel free to ask any others.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
