When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

I love Concord, even the areas deemed "high crime". I have owned rentals off Meadow and owned several homes myself in Concord and never had a problem myself.

For some good information on crime by a local go to facebook and friend a guy names "Claycord". His blog posts are come of the best for the Concord community.

As a resident, I can tell you it varies depending on what part of Concord you live in. Contacting the local police department or using the "Local Info" tab is a great start.
In my particular zip code, it is minimal... mostly older established neighborhoods.
Areas of Monument BLVD can be pretty bad as well as Solano.
Towards the Clayton border, as well as the northern section of Ygnacio Valley are really nice, and safe.

Overall, Realtors are prohibited by law from telling you whether or not any specific neighborhood is safe. It’s called “steering” and we are prohibited by our code of ethics and federal law from providing such information. Here are a couple posts that explain more:

However, we CAN tell you where to go to get information. In your case, for crime statistics, go to the following sites:

There are micro markets within each city in our area and each has it's own profile. If you identify an area, I suggest you call the local police and ask about current incidents. It is also advised to check on the Meganslaw website.
