Asked by Betty Rey, Long Beach, CA Fri Aug 31, 2012

I've heard stories that north long beach is not safe. is it true? and if so, what other neighborhoods in long beach are like Lemon Avenue with picket fences, charming one level houses from 1940s or older and safe?

There are a lot of very nice areas in Long Beach. The best way to find a home in an area you would like is to have a Buyer Consultation with a area agent. If you would like to schedule a consultation I would be happy to help you sort through the different areas.

Hi Betty,
You can check here for community information for North Long Beach:

You can also compare and contrast information about that neighborhood as well as others in Long Beach. The best information about safety and crime statistics would come from the Long Beach Police Department.

As far as other neighborhoods with quaint, pre 1940s homes -- You might also want to check out 90807, 90806, 90814, 90803, as well as parts of 90804 and 90802. If you want specific information on neighborhoods, feel free to call me as well.

Good luck with your search and let me know if I can do anything to help!

Hi Betty,
I would encourage you to look up crime statistics in the neighborhood or call the Long Beach police department to get more information on the area you are considering.

There are other charming areas in Long Beach near Carroll Park and Rose Park, and the prices are definitely much higher than in North Long Beach.
Another area with cute homes (but not as old and historic) is Lakewood.

I'd be happy to assist you in finding a home. Let me know if I can assist.
