Cindy Vedder was FIRST TO ANSWER
I had a friend attend Medical school there. He graduated in 2001. When I would visit him I'd leave before dark because your car wasn't safe on the street after dark. He had an '89 Civic he would drive to school because it was so old and still had his headlights stolen. You'd also hear gunshots at night once or twice a week. Brooklyn has improved in the time since 2000-2001, but that area had a LOOOOOOOOONG way to go.
