Hi Rosa,
As agents we can not specify whether the neighborhoods or schools are good or bad. There is always a perception that individuals possess about certain issues and is based on past experience. The best we can do is to suggest you make some research of your own including visits to schools. houses of worship, interview police officers or community policing officers, meeting with neighbors, ocassional drivebys' in your area of interest. a visit to local library. Searching the net is also an option. Good and bad neighborhoods are always hoping and waiting for good people to improve the quality of life...an opportunity that we owe to ourselves.
Hi Rosa, While your question is quite valid when you moving to an area, unfortunately Realtors are not allowed to tell a prospective buyer what neighborhoods may be good or bad. It is called Steering and it is a Fair Housing rule we cannot break. I always recommend that my customers do their own due diligence on websites such as Vivianne recommends, taking a ride up to a neighborhood on different days and times to get a feel for what goes on. As far as schools systems go, there are plenty of sites that will give you info on that. A Realtor can comment on a specific school system to you only if his or her children attended or have attended there. Sorry we can't expound on the subject as much as you would like. Feel free to visit our website at http://www.prudentialrand.com for local school links. Good luck
Rosa,
You can check the crime rate at the local police, and sex offenders registry at http://www.nsopw.gov/Core/Conditions.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCook
Copy and paste the link into the browser, if necessary.
Hi, Rosa
My name is Susan Brew-Mohart of RJ Smith Realty. The Meadow Winds sub-division is in the Newburgh magnet school system. That means that you put down your first choice of school, then your second choice. You then go into a lottery system and your child is chosen which school they will attend. You usually get your first choice, but not always. If you want information on the Newburgh school system, you can visit http://www.greatschools.net and get all of the information you need. As a real estate agent, I am not allowed to comment on the school districts. If you need any further help, I grew up just a few miles from there and am very familiar with the area. You can reach me at 845-781-0706. Good luck to you and your family.
