Hi Nicole,

Many of my clients have "reported" good results from http://www.crimereports.com. Pun intended!

Warmly,

As the other three agents mentioned, we are instructed to avoid the safety subject and direct clients to the police department. Here is one such police site, but the records end as of December 2011: http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/Apps/Police/crimeupdates.a…
This should give you an idea.

Another resource could be Neighborhood Scout: http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/md/bethesda/crime/
I have no idea how accurate their statistics are.
Good luck.

Hi Nicoleottolenghi:
As real estate practitioners we are often cautioned against answering such questions and your best line of defense would be the local police department. However reviewing the demographics of an area can also be very insightful as you make a decision in your home buying process. Please visit http://www.findmydcmetrohouse.com/Bethesda_Luxury_Fine_Homes, to find out additional information regarding the neighborhood in you wish to purchase your home.

All the Best! Natalie

Real estate agents can't really answer that question for you but there are other ways to get information about a neighborhood or community. One way to find this information is to check the county website: http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov. They keep statistics that may be helpful to you.

If I can answer other questions, please let me know!

I think the crime level in the area is likely the lowest in Montgomery county, which likely has one of the lowest rates in the state. It is a very safe area.

The local police department that covers the particular area in which you are trying to buy is a very helpful source. Call me at 301-404-1000 if you need any assistance or have any other questions. I would be happy to help you!
