I am the listing Broker and in my opinion the neighborhood is quiet. As for the other questions contact HPD for your answers. I do not desire a law suit, no answer. By the way the sun does shine there sometimes and then sometimes it rains.

This has to be one of the most stupid questions I have ever heard, outside of "Is the roof good"?

Hello Mr. Deriso.
The response you received below is correct as specific laws and ethics rule prevent licensed real estate agents to comment or base an opinion on the type of community. Your best bet is to visit http://www.bjs.gov/ which provides specific crime date by region. You can also visit http://www.JerryGearhart.com select community from the main menu. You will be able to view specific demographics provided by several sources.
Hope this helps somewhat. Contact me so I can assign one of my buyers agents to assist you in finding the right community for your family,

Mr. Mason below is correct. We are not allowed to comment on things such as that. The best thing to do is contact the local police department and they will be able to answer questions about the crime rate in the neighborhood. They'll be able to tell you the history of the types of calls they get in the neighborhood and how many of them they get in a time period. They should be used to answering these types of questions as MOST of my clients make this call prior to purchasing in EVERY area. I suggest it.

As far as the type of neighborhood and it's demeanor I typically suggest my clients go into the neighborhood at different times of the day throughout a week or so. Since you are out of town I'd do this for you and record the neighborhood so that you could see for yourself OR request some neighbors to tell you about the neighborhood.

If you are looking in the Huntsville Area please feel free to check out my website: http://www.laportiapaulk.com and give me a call at 256-701-4266 I'm great when helping to relocate a family and will definitely do all that I can to help in this matter.

Hi Keir,
Real Estate Agents are not allowed to comment on a variety of topics. The Fair Housing Act restricts the information that can be provided by a Real Estate Agent. Visiting the area and making your own determinations about what is best for you is the way to go.

Off Limit Topics Include:
• Crime Statistic (including questions about whether a neighborhood is good or bad or safe)
• Demographics
• Environmental Concerns
• Household Income
• Religion
• Schools (including questions about how good or bad the school is)

Determining to the answers to questions on any of the topics listed above is something that you would need to do on your own. It is up to the individual to make their own determination about a specific area. If a Real Estate Agent were to comment on such a thing, it could be steering which is a prohibited act.

Some websites to try include:
