I live in Pueblo West and I LOVE it! It is one of the safest places to live because most of the police officers who work in town all live in Pueblo West! There is some gang activity on the East side of Pueblo, you can check the stats with the local/county police. If you live in Rye, you've probably seen crime activity in the Chieftan. Pueblo West now has its own Wal-Mart as well as Safeway. We've got a brand new 24-hour medical facility and a brand new library (the most used library in all of Pueblo county!).

I left Pueblo West 10 years ago and have never regretted for one second. You would leave Rye to move to Pueblo West , You would have to be crazy.

No, Pueblo West is a suburb of the city of Pueblo. A small part of this subdivision has homes in the 120,000 to 190,000 range, then the greater part has homes on one to 2.5 acres that are priced from low 200,000's to over one million.
I live here with a home on 2.5 acre site, LOW crime rate, great neighbors, MANY of retirement age.
We just love it here. MYU office is in my home as I market mostly foreclosed properties and do not need a fancy city office.
Feel free to call me.

Rachel,

I grew up there and have family still there as well so I visit often. I also do quite a bit of business down there as well so I would love to help you with the financing if and when you decide. http://www.lendingmaven.com

My opinion is that the crime has increased but not anything more than any other city. It is a very family oriented town so you will see many generations of families who live there still. I would not worry, Pueblo West is the newly developed part of town so you won't come in contact with many of the issues you fear.

Happy Hunting!

Rachel,
You can ask yourself to the residents of the area by joining forums, here is a good website http://www.city-data.com that you can ask questions, have more information about the area easily.

Hope it helps!
Sincerely,

You are corret with the information you have gathered on your own. Property is cheap for a reason in areas of the country where you have undesirable activity and high unemployment.

Check with the local law enforcement agency for crime stats.

If you are concerned about crime, the local police department is your best source of information--why not call/visit and ask all your questions, they'll gladly help and you will have heard all there is firsthand.
