You can learn about crime / safety in different areas by going to http://www.crimereports.com. This free service is best used by comparing the area in which you currently reside to new, potential areas. From this comparison, you should be able to determine if a specific area is acceptable.

I've lived in Artcraft Manor for 14 years and I love it! I haven't had one problem since I have been here, many people walk to Signal Hill an exercise all hours of the night. You are also close to the beach, fwys, parks and shopping. The great thing too is you have parking easily on the street as well. I would also tell you to go anywhere you are thinking of living in at night to see if you still like it as much as in the daytime. You should also check with the local police department for the exact statistics. Hope this helps! Please feel free to contact me if I can help you anymore!

Yes I have lived in the Long Beach area for almost 20 yrs and this area is definitely safe and nice neighborhood. Zip code 90815 is one of the better areas.

Laura~ Long Beach is a great choice and happens to be very safe! (GOOD LUCK)

Long Beach is quickly becoming one of the safest city's to live in..IMO ..I have lived in long beach, ca. for over 40 years and I own apartments in long beach, I like the south east side to invest in...the south east side of long beach is considered the safest...once again IMO

Hi Laura,

Artcraft Manor is a nice area, but your best bet is to check crime statistics with the police department. Another idea is to drive through the neighborhood at night and see how comfortable you'd be there.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
