Is crime an issue in Sausalito?
How safe is it or does it feel to walk around? And, is this the case across the city, or are there differences in different areas?

I moved to Sausalito from New York in 1996 and the first thing I noticed was the absence of car alarms and sirens :) I've found it to be a very safe community but you should check the statistics yourself at http://www.idcide.com/citydata/ca/sausalito.htm

Sausalito is a safe and inviting enviroment. I live here and have never had an occasion to feel like I needed to look over my shoulder. The local neighbors look out for each other and it is a very tightly knit community.
It feels very safe to walk around anywhere in Sausalito.
We have very little crime, it is not an issue
