Asked by Stephan, San Francisco, CA Mon Apr 23, 2007

How safe is it or does it feel to walk around? And, is this the case across the city, or are there differences in different areas?

Throughout LHP the small town feeling is universal. The city is bordered on 3 sides by water and has its own police and fire departments which give it a superior rate of protection. Walking is enjoyable everywhere in town due to the citywide 25 MPH speed limit, and the many parks.

Crime is an issue anywhere and everywhere. However, Lighthouse Point has its own police department and citizens patrol who are always on the lookout for potential crimes, and their presence seems to keep crime rates very low. Being the small town community it is, neighbors look out for one another and report any suspicious activity. It is always best to keep your home secured and be aware of surroundings, but overall, LighthousePoint is a very safe place to live. I wouldn't want tolive anywhere else.
