How safe is it or does it feel to walk around? And, is this the case across the city, or are there differences in different areas?

no its not safe...gang bangers, gang members..c'mon The city manager has visions of granduer.

Instead of forcing the bad guys out..he is going after the business's..John Stunson is trying to gain more revenue by turning the bread and butter of Oakland Park into a LasOlas...its not going to happen. The proposed and recently built developements are already run-down or with the genius help of the building department has already increased flooding in an already flood prone area...Someone has lost their minds in this city. Proposed residential neighborhood on the old Ray's junkyard? This is polluted property that is ajacent to a propane plant. For God's sake, throw the "powers that be" out..

As with any place in this day and age, safety is relative to your familiarity with your surroundings. Unfortunately, bad things can happen to good people in the 'safest' settings. Personally, I feel safe in Oakland Park and am proud to call it home.
