Is South Monrovia a safe place to buy? South of Huntington Dr., or South of Duarte Rd ?

Safe? It's safer than the US average. It's safer than probably 65% of Los Angeles county. The "good blocks" are perfectly solid blue collar neighborhoods.

There's a reason the other side of the 210 is so much more, though. It's almost comparable to Arcadia.

Too many drug dealers in these areas. If you want to buy in Monrovia, stay north of Foothill.

This is a very silly comment.

There is a bad area just south of the 210 along the Myrtle corridor, but to say everything below Foothill is bad is just goofy. Most of the downtown area is below Foothill, and that's highly desirable.

Also, if you get down to the "South Monrovia Islands" area, you find very nice suburban living. True, not as walkable as the Downtown area and not as fancy as north of Foothill, but nice.

None of Monrovia is "rough" like the bad parts of Alhambra or El Monte, though. Unless "Drug Dealers" is just your term for working class African Americans.
