Is Phenix City, AL a good place to live?

We are about to move there because the Military is once again relocating us... we looked into Phenix City, AL as we would prefer it over Columbus, GA but how is the crime there? I tried researching online but cant find much... there is a specific property we are interested in and its On Sandfort Road.. any information for me on that> Thanks!
