Hi Dave,
I found this link from an article in San Diego Magazine that talks about Great Schools in San Diego and there is also a link to school information where you can enter in the zip code and get lots of info there too!

hi Dave

You can learn about school districts here:
http://www.sdcoe.k12.ca.us/district.asp

I got this link from:
http://sandiego.redfin.com/

Any result you get from the Redfin listings search will include links to more specific demographic info about the community as well as Zillow value estimates, etc. Of course Trulia and others offer similar information.

Good luck!

Dave, There are a number of areas that could work well for you. Of course, the first thing we need to know is your budget. I am unclear, are you planning to rent here for a year? Or buy here, and rent your Seattle home out for the year?

We need to know your budget for buying or renting, and go from there.

Encinitas is coastal and known for good schools. The school systems mentioned by MaryAnn are also good. Give us a bit more information and we can be of better help to you.

I'm happy to help any way that I can.
