Not stating they're wrong but you should rely on homeowners to answer your security question and take a look at the crime records. Not individuals (sales people) that are to receive incentives with transactions in the neighborhood.

My son just moved from Wesley Heights (historic distric) to the east side. He enjoyed living there. Lots of young people, plus lot of bankers in that particular area. A little crowded for parking, and a little noisey on the weekends, but a fun place to live. He had no problems with crime while living there. It's just expensive!

Hello Kelsey,

Congratulations on moving South to one of the best places to live in the country. I live adjacent to the Wesley Heights area in the 'newer' section of the 3rd Ward. Wesley Heights is what people would refer to as a transitioning neighborhood. It happens to be one of the most beautiful of areas in Charlotte and presents some nice opportunity to own a gorgeous home close to the city at a reasonable price. Here are some resources for you to check out with regards to crime:

1. CMPD - Crime Statistics Summary for May 2008
(released June 30, 2008):…

2. The Crime Mapping System:

In the second link, use the locate menu on the right side of the screen to type in either an address or an intersection to get details about reported crimes in the area. This is a much better way to evaluate for yourself.

Please feel free to e-mail me directly with any other questions you may have with regards to the Charlotte area. I am a transplant from NY. As a Realtor, I have been helping families relocate to the region for just shy of 5 years. Good luck with your relocation and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
