My general findings from the available data and general knowledge of the neighborhoods is that MOST OF East Palo Alto IS VERY SAFE (south/east of University Ave. -especially the Gardens area)
It is a very friendly and diverse town with fabulous access to anywhere on the peninsula at a fraction of the cost of other cities nearby.
My only complaint about EPA is the very high quantity of inconsiderate people with huge subwoofers in their cars that crank ridiculous volumes of bass all over their neighbors everyday. The socio-economic and cultural makeup of the town means there are hundreds of young people who are deeply drawn to the "ghetto" sound and attitude with their cars and style, but are not bringing a high amount of crime to the area... just subwoofer pollution. If you are OK with the noise, EPA is a very unique town that has alot to offer for anybody.
