Look at http://www.city-data.com and compare with where you are living now / where you consider to be a safe area. Most people would say Boardman is safe, but you can get the stats on the website for an unbiased comparison.

A great place to go is the Mahonong County sheriff's website.

Try going to http://www.moving.com for a profile of the community you are asking for and other communities. It will show you the US average crime rate as well as the crime rate for any city for which you are searching. Also there is a community profile under Local Resources in my web site. http://www.MaryStarkey.com

Maesie,

There is no better resource for this information then the local police department or county sheriffs department. They have access to the most accurate and up to date information.

Good luck

When you check the Boardman?youngstown stats compare them to areas around where you currently live so you can get a realistic idea of what you're looking at.

Your Mahoning County website will have crime stats. Most cities have crime near downtown but I have heard good things about Boardman and the vicinity.
