Hi Marie, you should really check with the local St. Paul police and sheriffs departments for this data. They will have the most accurate information. A realtor can't really give you a fully "legal" opinion on this issue for a variety of reasons related to real estate laws and professional liability.

If you could use a referral for a really great agent in your area, please contact me through the trulia form.

Marie,

The best source for this information is the local police department or county sheriff's department. They have access to the most accurate and current information and are generally very willing to be helpful.

Good luck

The area is fairly safe. The only time that it can get a little iffy is during school events, like when rivals play eachother in basketball or football, but even then, there is a lot of police presence to keep things under control. Since it is very near Concordia College, there is a lot of students walking around the area. Since the parking lots for the schools are pretty visible from the busy streets, there isn't a lot of risk that if you were to find yourself alone, walking out to your car, that anything is going to happen to you. I work for the police department, and can't recall very many police calls to that immediate area.
