Tropic Palms is an older subdivision with a variety of homes built as early as the 1950's and as late as the 1980's with most of the homes built in the 1970's. Safety is a relative term but your best bet is to speak with someone at the Delray Beach Police Department and you will find them to be most helpful with crime statistics. You can call them at 561 243-7800 or stop by and see them at 300 West Atlantic.
Road noise in the community is something to consider especially along the western border which backs to I-95. Also carefully evaluate the condition and features of each home as they vary widely in Tropic Isles and have a great to do with true valuations.
Overall the market is very strong in Tropic Isles with 16 sales over the past 6 months and another 7 homes under contract. There are only six active listings so inventory is low at 2.25 months which is solidly in the seller's market category with pricing pressure to the upside. Consider the median sales price over the past 6 month is $163,500 and the median list price on active listings is $299,450 and you see the need for detailed analysis of each home.

How safe is the area? That is a tough question, and not one that I can put a number on. I would say "safe". Check with the city of Delray Beach for crime rates, etc.
This is an area with single family homes, not gated, no HOA fees, and is a great place to purchase a house. It is in East Delray beach- East of I-95, and is close to everything.
This is an up and coming area, and prices have been rising in the Tropic Palms area over the last two years. The inventory for homes for sale and rent is limited, and if you are looking to buy a single family home, with low overhead, it is one of the best options around.
