One of the best things you can do is to take a trip down to the police station to get some data.

I have lived in Newburyport for 20 years and have found it to be very safe. I have never had any issue other than once having teens steal something from my unlocked car. (they were caught and the car is always locked now!). I absolutely love living here and can't think of a better place to call home.

Most local residents find comfort and safety within the area, however, if you are looking for statistics in any area personally unfamiliar to you....visit that specific town's website. There you will find information and links that will help in educating yourself about the area. Also, have a visit. Spending time in the area will aid in forming your own level and/or opinion of safety and comfort as the same can vary from person to person. :)

Search the police website OR Google search based on zip code OR media published reports

As a long time resident of Newburyport I am not aware of any unusual issues regarding safety and security in Newburyport. You can access more local info on our site http://www.greaternewburyportlistings.com.

Issues of safety are best directed to the local police and sheriff departments. They will have the most up to date and objective information available. Agents are legally restricted from offering an "opinion" on this in most areas.

Researching crimes statistics can be easily done online, but often times these sites are not updated as much as they should be. Your best bet for the most accurate and up to date information is seeking the help of a local police department and asking them to provide the police log for at least the last 12-24 months for the neighborhood and surrounding areas you are researching.
