How far of a radius is this?

If it is a 1000 feet in diameter that different from say 1 mile.

Yes there is a difference between 1000 feet and a mile. There are 5280 feet in a mile. I'm hoping these definitions may he help too. The radius of a circle or sphere is any line drawn from its center to the perimeter. The diameter is the distance from edge to edge going directly through the center. The distance around a circle is called its circumference.

Imagine a pie cut in half to show the diameter. A single slice (serving) of pie would show the radius. The circumfrence would be the outer edge of the entire pie. Hopefully that clears up any confusion.
