Your diligence can include a report from a local law enforcement agency. A totality of the circumstances can include a visual inspection of the neighborhood; or, it can involve attending a neighborhood watch meeting in the domiciles area. On balance, you can tell the safety of a neighborhood by the days on market which would reflect the neighborhoods DEMAND.
Thanks for the question. I tell my clients who have concerns about safety to check with the local law enforcement authority in the area where they are looking to live. We are all going to have different degrees of comfort levels in varying areas of any town. So do some simple research and decide whether the area you are looking in is the right fit for you.
