Hi, I am looking to purchase a condo in the South Fort Myers or Fort Myers Beach area. Being a single

parent with a daughter, I would like to know crime rates, and if gangs exist in this area. Thank you.

I actually live in South Fort Myers myself, it is a very large area with many nice neighborhoods and shopping. I live in the Gateway area which is extremely nice and quiet. Since the market has dropped it has become affordable. My daughter goes to Gateway Charter H.S. It is academically an A+ (uniform) school.
I am a Lic. Realtor and Lic. Mortgage Broker and I also work with several Realtors in the area who would be able to help you find the condo you are looking for. I will be happy to pre-qualify you for financing.
As far as crime is concerned unfortunately you will find it in every city in the nation. I know it exists because I hear about it on the news. I have lived here since 2000 and I have yet to see any gangs personally. The worst crime I have witnessed have been an occaisional "fender bender".
Please contact me and I will put you in touch with one of many realtors I work with in this area who will send you information on the area. You can contact me at (cell) 239-645-3798 or at (Ofc.) 239-277-9244 Ext. 212. I work at First Capital Lending Corp. in Fort Myers. or you can e-mail me at :
cblairbennett@firstcaplend.com. It would be my pleasure to help you.

I am selling my 2/2 plus den with extra storage right outside the front door, 1544 sq ft condo in Estero, extremely close to Estero High School as well as FGCU. The community is gated and has a workout facility, pool, and lots of kids. Asking no less than $200,000.

The answers below are to the point. Call the local Sheriff's Office and you will be provided with the latest statistics. I reside on Fort Myers Beach with my wife. We purchased our home in 1999 and have enjoyed life on the Island ever since. It's a wonderful lace to live, a small, intimate island community. Please feeel free to contact me and I will glad to send you listing of available properties in both Fort Myers Beach and South Fort Myers and answer any of your questions about this area.

Try this website http://www.sheriffleefl.org for basic crime information. There is also http://www.familywatchdog.us, which shows you where the sexual offenders are! The other good way to find out about the crime in an area that you are looking in is to talk with the other people that live in that area. You can search the MLS for free at http://www.welcomehomefortmyers.com. Just click on search area homes. Hope that helps you!

Lynn

The best resource for information on safety and crime rates is the local police department or County sheriff Department. Their information is through and up to date.

Good luck,

There are for sure certain areas to avoid. You will love the south lee county area of Estero if you have a child. Contact me and I can explain the different areas.
