Agents can not tell you one neighborhood is better than another it is called "steering" and it is illegal. So for that reason I would encourage you to plug in the address into the Police Departments website so that you can see all of the recent crimes in that area and conclude for yourself if the neighborhood is safe or not. here is a link to the crime mapping website through the Las Vegas Metro Police Department: If you are thinking about buying a home you might want to read up on the current market here in Vegas here:… If you would like me to send you properties that match your buying criteria please send me the info that is important to you here: If I can be of any further assistance please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you! Best Regards,

Hi Goldey

Real estate agents are suppose to represent buyers and sellers with care,
but unfortunately that dose not include advising our clients about crime in the area
buyers are thinking about purchasing their dream home.

The best we can do is refer you to the source like metro or websites with crime statistics

When asked this question, I usually tell my clients to drive the neighborhood
in different times of the day, speak to neighbors ans visit the local stores . You can also
call metro to ask about a specific area/zip code.

The tract itself will be fine. The surrounding area is quite difficult.

Criminal is not a protected class. So there is no prohibition against telling you that.

As agents we are not allowed to "profile" different areas of town. All we can do is provide you with the Las Vegas crime statistics web site so you can draw your own conclusions.

It's pretty cool once you get used to how it works. To start, simply enter a property address at the top to search. When that specific property's area map opens, you can adjust the criteria by using the tabs above the map for crime types, dates, etc. The date will only go back for the past six months, but if you use the same criteria consistently it will give you a great idea of how much relative crime there is within a certain radius of a given address.

I like to search by zip codes myself. You can plug in the address as "89115, Las Vegas, NV" and pull up everything within a mile radius.

If you are truly concerned about crime, you may want to locate lower crime zip codes first and then look for homes within those zip codes rather than looking for a home first. You can go to this site and search for homes by zip code:

If you have any other questions, just shoot us an email at We have been agents here more than 30 years, so we should have the answers. :)
