Areas affected by flooding in Lowell, MA.

Asked by Bert, Lowell, MA Sat Mar 19, 2011

I am considering buying an investment property in Lowell. How do I find out what areas of the city were affected by floods during the past 10 years? I am especially interested in the western part of Merrimack St. (between Suffolk and Pawtucket).

There are no current flood maps available for Lowell, MA. The most recent historical flood map dates back 1992. Follow the web references link below for confirmation...

The most recent flood happened in Lowell in 2006. http://home.comcast.net/~corey.sciuto/lowell3.htm

There is a dam in Pawtucketville to prevent flooding. Lowell, however, is not a high flood risk area.
