That will really depend on the landlord and/or property manager. I don't rely on just the credit score, therefore, something in the low 600's may be acceptable. Many good people have lower scores now if they had a short sale or foreclosure.

Good Luck in your search for a home to rent.

How much credit score do you have? If you have score of 700 or above it, it would be very easy for you to rent a home in Fremont. Get free credit score: http://www.freecreditscore.com/

Hello Sam,

As I tell many possible tenants, every company will be different. I have seen high scores with a lot of credit (good and bad) then I have seen low scores with little credit but all good. I look at the scores as well as the accounts and if they are current and paying on time.

Some apartments do have a minium standard, but I like to look at the big picture.

It truly depends on the management group and price point you are renting for. For a free credit score, go to creditkarma.com. This will help you understand your credit. If you have any errors, dispute them with each credit agency. Do this before applying for any new credit.
