This tax credit is available regardless of your credit rating. It has just been extended through April 30, 2010. If you are in contract to buy your home by this date, you can still qualify if you close your loan within 60 days, or June 30, 2010. Hope this helps.

If you need help with credit, let me know. I have a contact that can show you the consumer laws are on YOUR side! Best to you! Have a great day!

The good news is--you don't need to have a specific credit score to obtain the Federal Tax credit. But, if you need to borrow money to buy a home, then you will need a decent credit score to get the loan. I know that some KY lenders are making FHA loans with scores of 620 and above. You will need to contact some lenders and see what their requirements are for obtaining a home loan. Then, after you close on a house, you can file an amended return for your 2008 income taxes (Federal), and the IRS will send you a check for the amount of the credit that you qualify for. It doesn't get much better than that.
Good luck!

hi
its not necessary that you have to have a credit score of 650, if you qualify for the loan and you are a first time home buyer then you can apply for $8,000 tax credit. Also, your income should be up to $75,000 if you are an individual buyer and combined income up to $150,000 (married filing jointly) for full tax credit.

Hope it helps you.... for further assistance regarding $8,000 tax credit, you can visit:
