The transaction is between the Buyer and the Seller. As Realtors, our job is to skillfully negotiate the transaction. The Seller is not legally required to pay closing cost of any buyer. If the seller offers to assist with closing cost, that option is available, but not legally required. If the Seller agrees in writing to accept this contract, then you may have leverage within the contract. This does not appear to be A Legal issue. Keep negotiating or get another offer. Hi Debbie, I checked the mls, mostly hi-rises with community boat docks, one in Burbage Grant ($1900) but on a lake (you did not say anything about what kind of water...).
I help a lot of NATO folks find rentals (look for by owner ads, all the ones by agent are usually on the MLS, as I'm sure you have access to), and I sometimes have good luck with www.militarybyowner.com. I also check Craigs List.
Also, if you're connected on facebook you might shoot a "looking for" post there.

I have to agree with the other agents on here. You need to sit down with a qualified real estate attorney. Ask friends, family, colleagues for a recomendation or call your local bar association for some names of attorney's in your area. Do not sign anything until it has been reviewed by your attorney & you completely understand all parts of any agreement.
