Just gave this same advice to another person on Trulia.
"I know a lot of time has passed, but if you are wondering what happened and why no one answered - I thought I would give you a heads up. The messages often do not go to the listing agent. It would be better to contact one of the Trulia agents in the pop up box directly and have them contact the listing agent for you."

It may be. Open answer to an open question :). Clearly, the usage so far is antiques and restaraunts/art galleries etc. I personally dont think the antique galleries do that well. I think the area could benefit from a big box presence like a Starbucks or specialty retail. There are LOTS of places to rent but very little to purchase. The influx of high earners to the area definitley bodes well for retail. If you look to the west of Peachtree Industrial there are plenty of 700K+ single family homes going up.
The 'Village' going up in Brookhaven will draw a lot of retail and that may help or hurt. My view is that Chamblee is a good stopping point between the outer suburbs and the madness of Buckhead.
Bottom line - if the retail type is a fit then it should work, but I would do a lot of research first.
This is a great question! As a realtor I deal with this every time I list a home.
There is not a line item figure for each upgrade, but the best way to determine this is by comparing the comps. for other homes in that general area. Hardwood floors obviously are more valuable than carpet. If one home has hardwoods and the other has carpet for the same price then choose the home with hardwoods. All homes are different and may have other features that offset each other such as lot size, SQ. Ft., Counter-tops, Molding, siding, etc.
It's a fine line when it comes to these options and value is usually determined by the buyers preferences. Compromise is the key because it's usually difficult to find a home that has all the key elements rolled into one.... more
Your ability to qualify for a mortgage depends on several factors including credit rating, employment history, current verifyable income, down payment amount, etc. If you are curious about your abilty to qualify for a morgage and at what amount you will qualify, your best bet is to contact a local mortgage broker. They will ask you several qualifying questions in order to get a grasp on your financial situation. If they can pre-approve you, they will also give you some estimates as to your buying power, what your closing costs will be, and what your monthly payments will be. Best of luck!... more
