I appreciate your checking into this for me; I assume his wife inherited the house (Eunice).
I haven't found much info about him, and nothing about the house, but I'll keep looking.

FIRST ANSWER
I found a James Brokenshire in Central islip; wondering if there is any connection...have not found a Eunice. I did check on line with the historical society of Lake Ronkonkoma; you might try to give them a call.
