Always have a home inspection and always make sure your contract lets you walk if the home is not satisfactory. There are other builders in your area. If these folks don't want to hear your concerns after the inspection, look for a company that is confident enough in its work that it is not threatened by an inspection.
This should havbe all been negotiated BEFORE you moved in... and should be in WRITING. Verbal contracts are not enforceable in most cases. I always ask if you are not paying your mortgage, what is the rent for??? Hopfully you have a buyer broker experienced in short sales to help you, if not you will probabily want a lawyer to assist you. You should make sure any agreement includes who pays what to who and for what... including but not limited to property taxes, insurance, water, sewer, maintenance, repairs etc....... more
Yes this is true. I have a listing in Boothwyn and the home is 5 years old and taxes are $11,000. My tip is to buy a home that is newer so you know what you are committing to as far as taxes. A home that is newer will have already been tax assessed. My listing is 10 Fawn Lane Boothwyn.

You are right, get the home inspection, but have an inspector that can do a mold test, as well. Plus, make the contract contingent on the home inspection.
In Florida, we can include a max dollar amount of repairs that a buyer will accept (even as low as $250). If after the home inspection, the costs are above the determined amount, a buyer can opt out of the contract.
