The best way to find an area you want to live in is to tour with a Realtor, to get your feet wet. I am a Bloomington native, and have 10+ years experience as a Realtor. You are welcome to text, call or email me. Thanks!
Pre-qualification from a lender is absolutely the first step as this will set your boundaries for what you can consider. Some mortgage companies have a little more flexibility in what they can offer you versus a bank. I'd be happy to share some references for you to consider if you haven't already talked to a lender. Next step is selecting a buyer's agent you feel comfortable working with and who can help you financially. My firm specializes in providing rebates to buyers of up to 50% of the Buyer Broker Commission. This is FREE money to you available at closing. Our typical rebate amounts to 1 1/2% of the purchase price... this is usually enough to cover most, in not all of a buyer's closing costs! This rebate is available on just about ANY listed home no matter who the listing agency is! There are some terms and conditions so please visit our web site for all the details! If getting paid to buy a house makes sense to you then please consider me!... more
