Northwest Crossing or if you were smart you would pick on up on the butte with large lot size and better neighbors/kids. The Butte also has very good access to trails as I was born and raised on it and it was the best place to grow up. NOT COOKIE CUTTER!... more

It would be better to consult the relevant department before proceeding with your construction works. This is to prevent any possibility of you having to tear down the storage should it breach any lawful regulation. That would cost you a lot of money and wasted efforts for sure.... more
Sean, the Bend Chamber of Commerce is a great place for networking, meeting new people and getting to meet people in the community. Also if someone want to give back as well as get volunteering is a great opportunity for meeting people. Try Volunteerconnectnow.org... more
The west side of Bend is the older more established area. It is more expensive to live however because it is already well developed there will be little change occurring in this area. I hear that the crime tends to be in the north, though I believe that overall the city is safe when compared to other places the same size. I went there for two weeks last summer in order to check out neighborhoods and found some lovely walking/equestrian trails near the 97702 zip code. The east end is newer and more affordable but since it is still in development you don't really know what kinds of neighborhoods are going to spring up. Hope this helps.... more
It sounds like Bend is the right choice for you! It is a family friendly community and Bend loves their dogs. Outdoor enthusiasts flock to this vibant town due to all the fun things to do ~ all within a few miles of Bend. If you and your family are into kakaying, canoeing, hiking, biking or skiing - then look no further. Being originally from Michigan we find the winters mild - actually most of the snow happens up on the mountain.
What I love best is the friendly people - everyone on the trails say "Hi" and my husband is constantly asking -"Do you know those people" - my same response is no, but this is Bend. The breweries are amazing and each have their own inviting atmosphere - while the bakeries & cute eclectic coffee shops are over the top! Food is great ~ but more importantly affordable!
I wish you well in your new adventure and be sure to come and spend some time in Bend - I'm sure you will fall in love with this active community. Be sure not to miss the Deschutes river Trail - it is amazing and to think we have that much beauty right within town!
If you would like further information please feel free to contact me!Our market is very active at this time as buyers continue to find Bend exactly the place they want to live and raise a family in.
But more importantly - come spend some time to get a real feel for the town - after a few days here you will find which area feels the most like home to you!
My Best to you as you explore your options ~

Bend is big enough that you can be anonymous but small enough that you can go to 3 fundraiser events in a year and recognize people. It's a town filled with people who have moved here intentionally so they tend to like the friendly, outdoorsy atmosphere that Bend offers...which means it's easy to get to know people if you want to be involved. Go to the same wine bars and you'll have friends in 2 weeks. I'm originally from the Bay Area and I've been in Bend (and traveling around the world) for 15 years and wouldn't trade the lifestyle of Bend for anything! My other top choices to live are Tuscany, Queenstown, New Zealand or Jerusalem. Bend rocks!
