Do freight trains run on the tracks next to Woodrow in the Crestview area?
No! Buying a home backing to a RR track is not a good idea (unless it is being sold for VERY little) I don't care what runs on it. Sorry, my advice is move on and find a better choice.

How safe /annoying to live near rail tracks in North Central Austin?
If resale is important to you, yes run the other way. When considering resale - the question you should ask is - will this run off buyers in the future? My opinion is that it will.
