The price per sq. ft (PSF) averages about $260/ft above ground. It's hard to price a house based solely on sq. ft price. Homes with basements, ranch home with no basement change the PSF. So you can use it as a baseline, but I would not put too much weight in the PSF. I be happy to give your home a valuation.

Judy - I don't see a reference to a property address in your question. If you don't already have a Buyer Agent working on your behalf, your best bet would be to get one and have them schedule a showing for you. It will cost you nothing to have a Buyer Agent represent you, and it could save you from making what could be one of the biggest mistakes of your life. Buying a home is typically the most important financial decision many people will make in the their lifetime. Not having representation in a real estate transaction is like asking your brother in law to remove your appendix.
We recently moved to Denver from Santa Fe and got a great deal on a home in Athmar Park. Most the homes around us are also brick bungalows built in the 40's - 50's. There is a park with a lake (Huston) just up the street and the neighborhood is a mostly a mixture of anglo, latino and some asian. There appears to be a good deal of new commerce building up on Alameda and Federal....which is a good sign.... more
