In Athens, the key to rentals is making sure that your home is in an area that's zoned multi-family. If not, then the city has an ordinance that prohibits more than two unrelated people living in the same residence. Anyone who's caught breaking the rule must evict the tenants and will be charged up to $1000 per day for each day the tenants remain in place.
Although my company handles residential sales and does not do rentals, my team is also an investment group, and we own several rental properties throughout Athens. To that end, we have developed contacts with reputable rental groups, so if you'd like to find a renter for your property, let me know and I'd be happy to refer you to someone who can get your place rented. Or, if you're looking to buy, our team can certainly help you find something suitable. Just check out the contact info on our website, or feel free to send me an e-mail. Best of luck!

The Holman Avenue area is convenient to all kinds of shopping, food, entertainment, although depending on where you are on the street it may be too far to walk. There are always people walking around the neighborhood anyways. If you are close to Prince Ave, then you will be very close to some great restaurants and some shopping, and if you need it this is super close to the Athens Regional Hospital. There are no movie theaters within walking distance. This is an emerging neighborhood, with a bunch of rehabs going on, and homes that have always been well taken care of already. This area holds it's value better than some in Athens. As far as crime click on the link below that is referred by the Athens Clarke Police Dept. If you are thinking of moving there in my opinion - GREAT!... more
