If you live and work in Minneapolis, then you would have to purchase a home there as a Primary Residence. In order to purchase a Primary Residence, that home must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of the home. That is typically within a 50 mile radius. It must also be where you spend the majority of your nights each year.
A home in GA would have to be purchased as a Second Home/Vacation Home. You would have to qualify with both your Minneapolis and GA housing payments in addition to your other debts.
If you are looking to purchase a property, working with a knowledgeable and seasoned loan officer is critical in today's market. Getting Pre-Qualified is the only way for you to find out your mortgage options. To get Pre-Qualified for your purchase, you can submit your request online at www.rodneymason.com to get started.

No! Broker's nor Agents do not receive any monies in these situations and actually don't get paid at all until the property closes for any and all work involved. Cash for keys is discretionary compensation offered by the foreclosing bank only if occupant of property has left the home in cleaned out condition, it is an incentive to cooperate and is not an obligation they are required to pay. Did you get anything in writing and document the condition of home when you vacated by chance? If you did, that is really your only way to make a case for yourself. Hope this helps... more
Natalie, another option that no one seems to have mentioned yet is a lease-purchase. If you can find a seller who's willing to work with you for a time while letting you rent the property and get used to living there, then it might also provide you with an opportunity to find the right house now. In addition to my real estate team handling sales, we are also investors, and we would certainly welcome someone in a property of ours who could afford that high a monthly payment and eventually purchase a home. Please find my contact info on our website below if that option would interest you--and good luck in your search!

The Holman Avenue area is convenient to all kinds of shopping, food, entertainment, although depending on where you are on the street it may be too far to walk. There are always people walking around the neighborhood anyways. If you are close to Prince Ave, then you will be very close to some great restaurants and some shopping, and if you need it this is super close to the Athens Regional Hospital. There are no movie theaters within walking distance. This is an emerging neighborhood, with a bunch of rehabs going on, and homes that have always been well taken care of already. This area holds it's value better than some in Athens. As far as crime click on the link below that is referred by the Athens Clarke Police Dept. If you are thinking of moving there in my opinion - GREAT!... more
The bank has the last say they can retain the home if the bids do not exceed what they are owed plus costs.
My experience is attempting to pick up properties at foreclosure auction is a waste of time.... more
