A broker/owner friend in my area looked at offering healthcare, but in the final analysis she found that since the Pareto Principle (80/20 rule) applied to her 200+ full time agents, it didn't make sense to cover 100% of them when only 20% were contributing enough to cover the costs. When she surveyed them to see how much they would be willing to contribute on a monthly basis, less than 5% were interested in participating at ANY level.

Most brokerages don't but in Arizona we can purchase health insurance through our state association. It is very reasonable.

Some do but at a cost to you, it is a group program they offer to their agents to purchase.

V,

As independent contractors, you are basically self employed. I know when I worked for a larger brokerage, we weren't offered company benefits but could pay for our own benefits and we were provided a few quotes for those interested by the in-house insurance company. Just to reiterate - they weren't company benefits - each agent, if they wanted or needed health insurance, could buy their own and pay the full premium - the company did not contribute nor were they even part of the benefits package.

I've heard of a company offering health care for their agents but had learned shortly that they took it away, I wish they did but the norm is that the Realtor like Ron mentioned are considered Independent.

Not that I have found:
Sales Agents are independent business people,
with all the good stuff and bad stuff thrown in.

Good luck and may God bless
