Will the USDA Rural Home Loan remain a viable Zero Down option in the Phoenix, AZ area?

Asked by The Lang Group, Scottsdale, AZ Thu May 16, 2013

We are being told that USDA Rural is likely to be changed soon. Any reliable news available?

No. The program is being changed nationally and Rural areas like Buckeye are increasing in population to levels that disqualify them. The availability of USDA loans is in its twilight years.

I'm in the middle of a USDA loan for a buyer-client, and her lender told me that the changes for AZ had been postponed until late Summer/early Fall. From the info I received, it will be a re-draw of the boundaries and the approved zones for the entire program.
