Why are Trulia employees posting so many questions recently? Has the website's organic Q&A traffic been on a decline?

Ali from Trulia here. Thanks all for the feedback. As our website grows, we're seeing Q&A continue to accelerate, too.

Sometimes when we see really great questions in one location, we ask the same question in other locations, as well. Otherwise, buyers and sellers in those areas may miss out on helpful information—and we've gotten good consumer feedback about this. We're continuing to work on improving our site moderation, as we want to keep the conversations super relevant and helpful to home buyers, renters, owners and real estate pros just as much as you do.

If you have other feedback, please send our way at community@trulia.com.

Thanks!

I have no problem with Trulia posting questions.

Every question posted is a learning opportunity. I never pass on the chance to learn something new that may help me in my business!

Actually some of the questions have been quite interesting and I am glad to have the responses feature in my profile. There has been questions I have flagged because they serve no purpose to us as agent or to any potential seller, buyer, landlord or renter.

I too think that Trulia really would like some feedback to see how the site is being monitored/used. I do try to answer the questions as I would like to see any improvement that is out there

That is a good question. A lot of the questions that have been asked by Trulia employees have already been asked before. Perhaps they are trying to improve the Google rankings of various Trulia URL's, thus the generic nature of some of the questions being asked.

Hi Oggi. I don't think it's a good idea at all on their part. Actually, very uncool for company with a younger staff. They should be setting an example for better behavior instead of trying to generate staged traffic for their site.

What's the difference, though....they're all in it only for the money, the payout on Wall Street, really nothing more.

It may be to encourage postings among Trulia members and visitors and to generate more traffic.

Makes you wonder doesn't it? The questions seem often to be a duplicate of a question asked in a different area. While I find some to be of benefit others not so much.

You are on the right track. And, I appreciate your question. I have complained about this before. They are trying to increase traffic to their site for their own selfish gain, but it is not doing us agents a bit of good, except getting in our way. When I come across their often stupid and superficial questions I don't open them anymore. I ask all other brokers and agents to do the same. I don't want a discussion board nor a FaceBook premise. It was good as a direct question and answer forum. DELETE THOSE EMAILS. DO NOT OPEN THEM.

I've flagged many of their posts as "duplicates" because they are posted in the same "Home Buyers" or "Financing" section amongst many different geographic locations - unfortunately I don't think my flags have been taken seriously.

I'm noticing there have been very odd or silly questions being posted lately that have nothing to do with Real Estate.

I'm taking a guess this has something to do with it. IMO there should set up a filtering system in place so that we have good relevant content on the site.
