What you are buying can not possibly work (for lead generation) according to those who are experts in the industry, Big G and Hubspot. The follow results are typical of customized ads placed on highly traffic websites. Trulia and Zillow do not allow optimized ads therefore the results will me MUCH lower. So, the following are best case scenarios.
Besides a fatally flawed process, lets crunch a few numbers.
What is the number of visitors to the site for that zip code, (not hits, impressions or views) Lets use 30,000 INTERACTIVE (these are the only ones you want to count) visitors.
30,000 x .75 (your prorated share = 22,500 could see you ad.
Visitors x 0.005 = potential leads (these are the only ones who statistically will act upon seeing your placement ad)
22,500 x .005 = 112
Potential leads x (landing page conversion rate) 2% on a really good day.
112 x.02 = 2 lead conversion monthly
Subscriber costs / 2 = cost per lead
The 2% conversion rate is on a good day when the advertiser has the option of customizing their ad to allow the website visitor to self select.
Your pic plus a phone number has ZERO chance of compelling a visitor to click through in an already meager environment of unqualified buyers and sellers.. If you can not attach a customized headline to your ad, in any advertising forum, you are wasting your money in regards to lead generation.
So why do agents lay down their hard earned money for print ads and aggregate websites?
It is not for lead generation.
How many hits does the zip code get an average per month? There may be a good reason why 75% was available for you to purchase, it may not be a very busy zip code for hits. The more hits the more possible leads.
I bought a small share in one of the local zip codes in my area, it was not the most actvie which again is why it was available. I did get a few leads but nothing that developed into a closed sale.
Perhaps you should by smaller shares in zip codes that are more active. Maybe spreading yourself out will yield some productive leads.
