Who would have guessed that Plano Tx schools would be #2 on the list of most posh schools in America? Beverly Hills Ca was #1!

Guess they meant Plano West. By the way Plano schools always stay on top of SAT's, Merit scholarships and Ivy addmissions. Just looked at Newsweeks best 1000 high schools and Plano West, Highland Park and Dallas Magnet were. The only ones from DFW in top 100.

"Public schools sometimes get a bad reputation for graduating students with more street cred than academic prowess…
But Plano & many public schools offer magnet programs, special advanced placement opportunities, and internationally respected teaching practices that prepare students for the country’s best universities. And if you’re trying to snag a house in the right zip code so that your kids are guaranteed a spot at what could be the best school in your state, you know that these public school systems may be even more competitive than their neighboring private institutions."

Is posh a draw?
Plano probably has a pretty high average income for the area, so doesn't surprise me that they would have nice schools, with nice amenities, and not be lacking for the basics.
Very strange to me that some schools can lack for nearly nothing, while others not far away can lack for nearly everything.
