I'd suggest sending a marketing piece with a "coupon" to all of the local offices in your service area.

Create and print an introductory flier, attach business cards to them and distribute one per agent at the offices in town. Chat with the receptionist and/or agents briefly while at the offices.

Offering discounts for your services to the agents and their clients might help too.

If you have a Web site, ask any agents with Web sites if they will enter into a reciprocal link arrangement.

In addition to Realtors, you have a very large market in the REO asset management companies that get the old keys from the owner and have the houses re-keyed even before the listing agent is hired. Get referrals to these companies from REO listing agents Also
Check search engine results for REO asset managers and you can sign up as a contractor with several of them.

You may also want to network with other other REO service providers such as Trash haulers and Winterizers.

Hi Anna, great ideas below, but I have another. Look up BNI - Business Networking International in your area (link below). Visit a meeting and check out the concept - seats in each chapter are exclusive, if you decide to become a member you can visit other chapters and continue to build your network. Almost every chapter has a Real Estate Agent. You may also be able to convince that agent to get you a brief speaking engagement at their offices weekly sales meeting, expanding your network even further. Trades people are always in high demand. If you develop a great reputation you will build your business beyond just Realtors into a larger community. Best wishes! Stacey

Have good quality paper key tags made with your contact information on one side and a discount, or?? on the other. . Make sure the tags are decent quality but...nothing fancy. They need to fit inside a variety of lock boxes so, check that they do. Distribute them to REO agents in the area. We all need extra key tags for the re-keys! Love em'! Remember....nothing fancy, just a good quality paper tag. The "bead type" (Like what you would have dog tags hanging from) rings are better than the round ones...they fit better in lock boxes. When you hand them out, make sure to collect business cards and get emails if not on the card to send out specials, information of value to listing agents....keep it simple and do not bombard them! Email is free, the tags are cheap and a combination of the two should produce excellent results. I wish you the best of luck!
